This is a really old top valve steam whistle, 17 1/2 inches tall, whistle only, and a 4 inch diameter bell.  It is a type used on early Porter steam locomotive.  Presently it has a lever for straight down pull, (suitable for use on a steam launch) but this type also used an L-shaped lever typical in locomotive use.  See Porter image.  The valve has no steam cuts or other damage and is tight enough for use, but could be improved with valve compound.  The 1 1/4 npt inlet threads are good, but need some Teflon when the whistle is installed.  A small hard to see braze is on the top of the valve rod and is sound. The whistle is lacquered to preserve its shine.   I'll be glad to answer questions.  The sound clip was on around 25 psi of air, 3/4 inch feed and whistle will be slightly higher in pitch when blown on steam.  This whistle appears in the book The Engine's Moan on page 235.
